Encountering God in the Storm (Job 40)

God in the Storm

Job 40:6-7 says:

Then the Lord spoke to Job out of the storm:
“Brace yourself like a man;
I will question you,
and you shall answer me.

Life is full of storms and rough weather.

Often tough times – like those experienced by Job – are trials that God uses for our benefit.

In this storm the Lord spoke to Job and he was instructed to “Brace himself like a man”.

When the trial comes in life, that is the voice we need to hear; The voice of the Lord to us.

It is a frightful voice, it is a confronting voice. But ultimately, it is a comforting voice because the voice of the Lord to us reminds us of who is in control of the storm and the trial we are in.

The same frightful voice of the Lord comforts us when we remember it is the same voice who can say to the storm “be still” (Matthew 8:23-27).

PRAYER: Lord, thank you for the storm I am in. I don’t choose it, but I ask you to show me what it is you are teaching me and forging in me during this season. Speak to me Lord. I want to hear your voice and be comforted by it. I love you Father, Amen
